Rocksmith: Steam DLC Won’t Run

Important!

Dear visitors,

This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.

We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.

At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.

Thank you for understanding.

As a Steam user I have noticed an issue with the game Rocksmith.

Some down-loadable content (DLC) does not run after purchasing and downloading.

The data is correct but the game does not seem to run the DLC correctly. When the song starts there is no music and no movement, the game just stays still, some users has claimed that the song stops mid way though.

This might not be the best time, but making a blog is not easy. Would you consider donating?

Solution

Step 1: Use Steam’s backup feature to backup the game.

Step 2: Use Steam’s delete game feature to uninstall the game.

Step 3: Find where the game was installed and delete the Rocksmith folder.

Step 4: Use Steam’s backup feature to restore a game from a backup file.

The game should run correctly now.

You may have to repeat this process every time you purchase and download new DLC.

If this does not work for you or you see #12353# where menu titles should be, I recommend creating a new player profile and see if the problem goes away.
