uTorrent: Remove the Advertising for Free

Important!

Dear visitors,

This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.

We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.

At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.

Thank you for understanding.

It’s always unfortunate and disruptive when good free programs inserts advertising into their software. However, uTorrent has always provided users the option to remove or hide the ads without paying anything.

In the application’s settings window, there is an option in the long list of advance options to disable the advertising.

Hey buddy, it takes a lot to make a blog. How about a donation?

The following illustrates how to disable the ads in uTorrent 3.3.2.

  1. Top menu >> Options >> Preferences
  2. Side menu >> Advanced
  3. Find “offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled”
  4. Change the value from “True” to “False”
  5. Click the “OK” button to apple the changes.

You can type “sponsor” into the Filter field to help find the property faster.

If you’re using an earlier version of uTorrent, you can type “sponsor” into the Filter field, this will help search for the option as older versions do not have the same property names.
