Your B.C. Health Care System at Work

, By Patcoola

What does ten thousand twenty-two mean to you. If you said 10,022 you obviously graduated elementary school, however, if you work in administration at a British Columbia (B.C.) hospital ten thousand twenty-two apparently means 1,000,022. Even after repeatedly trying to correct the mistake over the phone, it is very apparent B.C. workers do not understand math. I was even asked if 10,022 was with five zeros.

This might not be the best time, but making a blog is not easy. Would you consider donating?

I personally cannot understand how anyone with no understanding of math could be hired into the health care system. While their is many highly qualified persons that can’t get jobs, and with the entrance requirements for post secondary institutions on the rise. I for one was forced to upgrade my math, because the institution had redeemed my aging grade 12 to be unqualified and not on par with college math. In my observations of many young college students, many were enrolled to upgrade their basics such as mathematics to meet entrance requirements. Even low level classes such as Office Administration and Business Administration now have strict entrance requirements. So how is it, an under qualified person could be entrusted with other peoples important matters is disgraceful.
