Financial Outlook for 2017

, By Patcoola

2016 was my greatest year for fund raising, bringing in $3207 Canadian. This year (2017) I believe will be a dry year as the number of services provided locally in 2016 was very high. I speculate 2017 will require an out reach farther out of my domestic area, and an investment into new products. Maintaining this level of public interest will be difficult, the long awaited computer website will have to launch as soon as possible.

The high number of computers serviced in 2016 could mean that I would have to wait several years for returning customers. Currently the majority of my fund raising comes from local computer services. Computer customers can take up to nine years before coming in. Estimates show that I am probably servicing one quarter of all civilian computers per year due to the low population of the Yukon and the number of computers per house hold.

I speculate a higher out reach beyond my service area and an increase in services/products offered will help to maintain public interest. The launch of the new computers website will be critical in 2017. The new website is state of the art with tons to offer. Investing in custom build computers will improve public image. People will enjoy a store display of an assortment of computer cases.

The investment into computer services does come at a risk. I depend on those services has my primary income to cover maintenance costs. However, the investment takes away from product development. I should be creating a video game to make real money instead of providing a service which very few need each year. My time investment into computer services is very high, but is necessary as this is the only reason people are taking an interest locally.

The 2016 funds has been spent. I spend 100 percent of what I take in every year on maintenance costs, supplies, and growth. In 2016 I was able to build a new computer, and in 2017 the old computer will be repaired to provide services. The old computer will be a service computer and will provide computer lessons for many different operating systems. The purchase of music creation software had been made as well as tools for game creation. Thanks to the contributions of 2016, I am now able to keep an extra solid state drive and hard drive on hand for computer customers, saving them nine days.

The success of 2017 will mean that there will be very little expenses for future years and no further investment into computer services. 2017’s target for success is 2000 dollars.

Projection for 2018, I hope to purchase a Mac Mini for Apple services and software publishing. I do not expect many expenses for 2018.

Projection for 2019, I hope to showcase game demos and animated advertisements at the Yukon Trade Show. The trade show is estimated to cost about 900 dollars after the costs of banners and media players.

Fund raising years:

2010: 0
2011: 884
2012: 626
2013: 626
2014: 729
2015: 1411
2016: 3207

Whatever happens will happen. I just wished, things were better from the start. In the beginning I made the mistake of charging too little, and my prices are still considered low. However, it is a numbers game. The more contributors, the more proof of public interest. I hope 2017 slows plenty of public interest.
