Satou saves a young woman named Zena Marientail from falling and is approached by soldiers. Satou learns the skill fabrication, allowing him to lie. He explains that he is a traveling merchant and he lost his house and merchandise when the rocks fell from the sky. The soldiers have no choice but to take him at his word and point him towards the city.

Satou is given a city pass at the gate and can only stay for a short time. Walking though the streets of vendors a young girl approaches Satou. Her name is Martha and her parents own an inn for travelers like himself. Satou takes up lodging and goes to town with Martha as his guide.

Satou spots two demihuman children struggling to carry fire wood. A young man named Somaru starts to bully the children because they are slaves. Satou comes to their aid, posing as their master. He ties the wood for the children and an other slave meets with the two. Satou continues his shopping with Martha and learns about an old story. He buys a mask and wing to go along with the story.

At night Satou jumps from roof top till he finds some high grounds looking down upon the city. Satou is amazed with the city and the depth of this world. He believes there is much to learn of this world to be learned to improve the game. Satou returns to the inn to meet Martha’s younger sister Yuni and eat.
