The Yamato obits the fourth planet in the Beemela system, Beemela-4 to resupply and repair. The Seagull is sent down to scout for a metal deposit. Meanwhile the military on-board the Yamato stage a mutiny when the planet is discovered to be a suitable replacement for Earth.
On the planet, the metal deposit was discovered to be an old Iscandarian ship. Looking for clues, the landing party discovers ruins which contain another Iscandarian core. The landing party believe that finding the core was a setup, as some sort of trail.
On the ship, Yuki Mori is accused of being Yurisha the sister of Starsha from the planet Iscandar. The military believe the mission to Iscandar will failure, and they must return to Earth with the coordinates to a new plant before humanity becomes extinct. The crew quickly retake the ship and the captain admits Yurisha is in-fact on board, but is asleep and connected to the ships systems.
