After receiving the Cosmo Reverser, the Yamato embarks on its journey home with new allies. Two months since they left Iscandar and eight months since they left Earth. Many crew members have been lost, and a new life is to be born. The Yamato responds to a Gamilan distress call to find Miezela Celestella. The crew plans to use the Gamilan warp gate to shorten their travel time. However, Desler loyalists have rallied their forces to attack the Yamato.
The rebel Gamilan fleet lead by Garemud Goer attacks the Yamato. Goer’s fleet is confronted by Wolf Frakken’s dimensional ship and Goer’s ship is destroyed. The Yamato enters the warp gate to be confronted and boarded by Desler.
Desler wishes to speak with Captain Okita, however, the Yamato crew forces him back. Mori is badly injured, and Desler aims him Desler cannon at the Yamato. Regular beams cannot work in the warp space and the Yamato fires shell cannons at Desler’s ship. Desler is destroyed.
