Desler’s attack on the Yamato in warp space had left the Yamato crew with 17 dead, and 24 wounded. Officer Mori was shot, and is a coma. The Yamato makes contact with Todo at headquarters, but the single was poor. Meanwhile the crew gossip about a ghost wondering the ship, wearing a defense force uniform.

Kaoru Niimi over hears the crew and spots the image of Mamoru Kodai. The doctor speaks with Captain Okita as his health is quickly failing from radiation sickness. The Captain doesn’t have long to live, and may not make it back to Earth.

The crew receives their invitations to Kato and Harada’s Wedding party. Mori was placed into the ships neural net navigation chamber, hoping it will bring her out of her coma. Mori wakes up asking for Susumu Kodai. Kodai arrives to her chamber to receive the terrible news of her passing and last words. The doctor and Kodai wish to keep her passing a secret from the crew until they return to Earth. Later the crew celebrate Kato and Harada’s marriage. Nurse Harada is pregnant.

The ghost of Mamoru Kodai continues to wonder the ship while gathering information. His brother opens Mori’s chamber to hold she one last time. Susumu wishes for a world with Mori and Mamoru activates the Cosmo Reverse System. The system requires a the memories (soul) of a person to activate and guide the Cosmo Reverser. Mori is returns to life in perfect health, however, the Cosmo Reverse System cannot be used again.

Suddenly the Cosmo Reverse System reboots with the Captain’s passing. The bridge crew is surprise to see Mori again, and the Earth is saved. December 8th, 2199, the Earth is a beautiful blue planet again.
