This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.

Anti-virus companies update a database or list of known viruses called virus definitions, in order to keep this database updated with the latest virus definitions, the anti-virus company must first catch the virus and add it to their virus definitions.
Because we relay on these companies to first find and catch the virus, many viruses get missed, therefore each company has a different list of viruses in their definitions.
For these reasons, each anti-virus has different virus definitions, one anti-virus is not enough to catch all the viruses.
