Learn moreThe upload speed was increased from 256Kbps to 384Kbps.
The increase had also changed the services download speed as well.
Due to the asynchronous nature of ADSL the upload speed is a reflection of the services download speed. This means the upload speed is the required amount of bandwidth needed to download at full speed, these messages sent from your computer is sometimes refereed as Talk Back.
After doing some real world benchmarks I have concluded the new speed to be 3.2Mbps. The download speed has been increased from 2.5Mbps to 3.2Mbps.
Benchmarks
Peak average: 320KB/s
High average: 315KB/s
Low average: 300KB/s
Expect speeds of 300KB/s with highs of 315KB/s and short bursts of 320KB/s.
Note speed may vary on your location.
Now the question is when will Northwestel make the change official. The last time the speed was unofficially changed from 2Mbps to 2.5Mbps Northwestel waited a hole year to make it official.
