Learn moreDear visitors,
This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.
We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.
At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.
Thank you for understanding.

Pre orders for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset is up for pre order and the people are not happy. After years of anticipation we now have a price of $599 USD where the developers kit was about $350 USD. Canadians’ fears have been confirmed, the rift will cost an arm and a leg in Canada. Canadians have always paid more for American products and the Rift is no exception at a staggering $849 CAD.

In addition to the 849 dollar price tag, most Canadians may have to upgrade their computer’s video card (graphic card) to meet the recommended requirements. The video card of choice is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 which can be found as lows as $300 USD, however, in Canada this card averages about $450 CAD with some models as high as $550 CAD.
The current consensus among many on the Internet, is that they will not be an early adopter of VR. Expensive headset, high hardware requirements, waiting for competitors’ product, and lack of content makes many re-evaluate their prioritizes.
“Don’t fret too much about it, VR is just something to aim for in the future. VR is just at its starting point and everyone has to catch up” say’s myself. Once VR officially hits the market, more VR content will start rolling out. We’ll see if the GeForce GTX 970 is really necessary, or can we play VR at a reduced quality. VR videos are already available for the lesser Gear VR hardware, so playing VR videos should be available for many users. Only time will tell.
