Joseph wishes to make Chise immortal by giving her his curse in exchange for her arm. Joseph believes that the dragon’s curse in her arm will break his immortality. Joseph exchanges an eye with Chise and Chise slips into a dream.
Chise remembers back to her family as a child. Remembering a happier time leading up to the day her father disappeared and the day her mother died. Once Chise accepted her past, a part of Joseph appears in her memories to advise her. Joseph will give Chise immortality if Chise can grant him one wish.
