Back in time when Itsuki is still in middle school, Itsuki believes he is not the protagonist of his own story. A high school girl named Ayane Mitahora arrives at his door, she is the daughter of his nanny. Ayane wants to meet the boy her mother always talks about. Ayane has heard so many stories about Itsuki, she considers him to be her little brother.
Ayane visits Itsuki regularly for a time until she breaks Itsuki’s heart. Itsuki wishes only for a little sister and to be the protagonist he wishes to be. From that day on Itsuki starts his journey as a writer, having the little sister he wishes for and being the protagonist.
Itsuki’s friends and others gather at Itsuki’s house to celebrate his new success. Haruto gives Itsuki a board game called “The Life of Light Novel Writer”, a game that simulates the journey of a writer. Itsuki has a slow start and wins in the end, however, he doesn’t feel like he has.
