Elias changes into a powerful creature and attacks the monster. The dog Ulysse tells his story of the lost of his master Isabel and how he waited at her grave for her return. Renfred appears to shoot the monster Cartaphilius in the head, hoping to end his terror. However, Cartaphilius recovers.
Renfred had lost his arm to Cartaphilus and is at his mercy. Another of Cartaphilius’ monsters appear, made of the parts of corpses. The head of the monster is the head of Ulysse’s master Isabel. Ulysse gets over the lost of his master and asks Chise to be his familiar. Chise gives the dog the name Ruth, and with the power of their newly formed bond, Ruth attacks the monster.
