The fifth battle of the Royal Knights Selection Exam is about to begin, but who is Mage X. Captain Rill Boismortier of the Aqua Deers reveals himself as Mage X. There was no rule that a captain could participate in the exam. Captain Rill wishes to prove that he isn’t the weakest captain after receiving the lowest rank at the annual Star Festival. Now the Knights have a change to experience the strength of a captain.
Rill’s family butler Walter appears and in happiness makes Asta some tea. Walter is happy to see Master Rill with his friends. Years ago the Rill was obsessed with painting and his powers made leaving with him dangerous. Walter confronted the young master and suggested that he could find new colors and art to paint if he joined the Magic Knights. Rill agreed and left right away on his new adventure. The irresponsible Rill wins his battle with an overwhelming flood of paint. Next is the sixth battle with Klaus and his teammates Luck and Puli.
