Satou and Zena visit the General Store for a consultation with Nadi. Satou is interested in a house and a carriage. Nadi becomes their real estate agent, taking them around the city looking at houses. When no sutable homes could be found, Satou lets Nadi purchase a horse and carriage for him. Then he takes the girls shopping and to the out door theater.

Satou buys the children a set of educational cards. The cards will help with their reading skills. At the theater, the children couldn’t pay much attention and dreamed of eating meat. Satou watched the play, however, something about it was a bit off. After the play, Satou picks up a woman’s handkerchief. They discuss the play, the woman tells him the original story and that the nobles had it changed.

Satou and Zena encounter Zena’s comrades from the military. Zena casts a healing spell for Lilio. Later the city is under siege by attacking flying ants. Satou and party help defend the city from the waves of bugs. A guard tries to cheat Satou for the reward from killing bugs. He uses his skills to convince the guard that merchants have everything in writing and the guard gives up the money.

Later that night, there a disturbance outside. Satou goes out to see a group of shadow men attacking a small creature in a clock. The creature is a rat man, wearing a red helmet. His was trying to protect an elf girl. However, with his injuries, he begs Satou for help.
