The Yamato leaves the Milky Way galaxy to be attacked be attacked by a Gamilas ship in a pocket of fluidic space. The Yamato is damaged and found shelter in a cluster of asteroids. Captain Okita has a heart attack and has emergency surgery. Susumu takes out the Seagull without permission to scout for the Gamilas ship.
