The Yamato sends a scout ship through the warp gate to planet Balun. The planet is a large generator to at the center of the Gamilas warp gate network, powering the network. Meanwhile a force of over 10,000 Gamilan ships have gathered at Balun for a fleet review. Herm Zoellik broadcasts his claim to the throne until Lord Aberdt Desler over rides the broadcast to announce that he is still alive. Herm was the traitor to the empire.
The Yamato make a daring move, making a surprise attack on the Gamilas fleet in Balun. Captain Juuzou Okita is betting on the fact that there is too many Gamilas ships to effectively open fire on the Yamato. The Gamilas ships are afraid of friendly fire and the Yamato has the advantage. The Yamato destroys planet Balun and the explosion pushes the Yamato through the gate to Tarantula Nebula. The explosion destroys the Gamilas fleet and the warp gate network.
