Most online virus removal services only scan and report but does not remove any viruses. The facts are, you do have to download some software on to your computer, the amount of data you need to download could be over 100 megabytes of data and can take about 10 minutes for some high speed Internet connections to download.
Some online virus removal services do place advertisements on your computer to buy/subscribe to their anti-virus. Some companies also use this service to collect statistics on their users.
Do not expect an online virus removal service to of any real use to you as most are just for self promotion and aggressive viruses/malware will prevent you from using these services.
