Learn moreDear visitors,
This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.
We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.
At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.
Thank you for understanding.
A while back, there was a big upgrade to the URL naming standards, this update allows the use of non-Latin characters. This means that website addresses can now be in native Chinese for example.
This sounds great, but how does this effect your web browser or Flash?
Although I can’t test this myself for my Flash Licensing And Protection System (FLAPS), people who have visited the first non-Latin character domains have posted on websites that the web browsers can access the website but the address displayed is not in its native characters.
My guess is that the web browsers need to be updated to support multi-languages in the URL, and this may also mean that the users may have to install every different language on their computer as well.
How does this effect FLAPS?
Flash may have the same problem as the web browsers do with reading and displaying the URLs, thus does not support non-Latin characters. Maybe future versions of Flash will fix this, but that makes many older versions a no go. Then again I don’t know this for sure, since I can’t test this.
