Learn moreDear visitors,
This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.
We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.
At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.
Thank you for understanding.
Project Title: Print View
Core Languages: JavaScript
Date Completed: 2012/01/15
Purpose: Easily add a print view option to a web page. View and print a printer friendly version of a web pages main content.
Description: Print View is a simple and small JavaScript function that adds a printer friendly view of a web page’s contents. Print View takes the main content of a web page and re-displays the content in a pop-up window with the page title, page address and simple print button access.
Pages without titles are given the title ‘Untitled’. Most content formatting is excluded providing a plan text view. Print View is a change of the content’s display and does not access any databases nor does it create additional page addresses or duplicate pages in search engines. Print View is the perfect solution to printing web pages without coping and pasting to a text editor.
Works with Gecko, MSIE and other web browsers.
Limitations: It is highly recommended that the web page uses CSS and formatting is not hard coded directly into the document elements as these properties cannot be easily removed and will be included in Print View.
