R&D: Drag and Drop JavaScript 2012/05/23

Important!

Dear visitors,

This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.

We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.

At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.

Thank you for understanding.

I have been working on a Drag and Drop method in JavaScript, however, this has been a bit challenging for there is much more than dragging and dropping involved in the process.

At the moment I have drag and drop working, that was the easy part, but many other functions are in development to make a solid drag and drop method.

Testing user selection override, when an object is being dragged the mouse continues to select the Web pages contents.

Mouse event locks outside Web browsers boundaries, this one is a thinker.

Setting a boundaries, perfect for sliders such as scroll bars. First two problems must be solved first otherwise every easy.

Swap depth, temporary brings the dragged object to the top depth.

One of these days I will have this all done and it will be fantastic.
