Stronghold Kingdoms Beginner’s Guide

Important!

Dear visitors,

This blog and the Tigarus.com network will be changing our website software in May (2024). There will be some down time and there will be a change to the webpage addresses.

We will also be removing the Anime blogs. The Rocksmith Songs website will be unavailable of a few weeks or months while I move the database to the new software.

At the moment we are running on Wordpress, the new software is an in-house project which is 57 times faster. It will also provide more freedom for development.

Thank you for understanding.

Invest in Defense

Invest in Defense, we all need to defend our villages, in this game computer armies will pop up and attack you, whether you like it or not. I recommend investing in Diplomacy early into the game, this will benefit you till the end.

Research at the start, at the beginning of the game, research the first four Fortification levels, this will give you access to the Wooden Gates, Stone Walls and the Stone Lookout Tower. These are cheap, quick to build and a huge benefit to you at the beginning of the game.

Starting a new castle, building strategy. Although there is no best way to build your castle walls and construction can be very slow, plus non-player castles will constantly attack you. My best advise for building up your castle from the start is to surround your castle with walls from the castle outwards. Do not build walls or towers like a fence. Build these walls as thick as you can, when you feel you have enough walls surrounding your castle, replace your inner area walls closest to your castle with guard houses and defense structures, then build towers as they are the slowest to construct.

Placing towers, the ideal outer walls should be about three towers thick.

Placing your archers, the best place to place your archers so they are less likely to be attacked, is to place your archers on towers closest to your castle, here they can still defend your castle but the attackers cannot attack them.

The Lane of Death, A Castle should have a path from the Castle to the outside. This path is for the Sally Knights to attack the enemy, but you also want this path to limit the enemies moment. The Lane of Death is not just a path to the Castle, you can place traps and oil pots over head. Each unit lines up and moves through the path one by one to die quickly.

Guard houses, I recommend about 14 this is a total 160 place-able units.

Smelters, I recommend six.

Tunnel, Build this as soon as possible, villagers will claim out of the tunnel to defend your castle. These villagers are not from your village, so if they die it does not matter, tunnelers make a great distraction for attackers and tunnelers target catapults first.

Diplomacy, Max out diplomacy at 50% will greatly benefit you through out the game, as you receive 100% of the honor from the attackers and save on castle repairs and troops. By the time you reach the rank of prince, you could earn over 50,000 honor points. I highly recommend researching diplomacy early in the game.

Vaults, This increases the time it takes an invading army to steal from your village. I recommend not researching this, as this means the attackers have more time to destroy your castle. It is better to let the attackers take some of your goods than destroy your castle.

Sally Forth, This allows horsemen to spawn from your castle to attack the attackers. This is great because they cost you nothing.

Defenses, Increases archers armor while on castle walls and towers, provides traps and increases guard house armor/hit points.

Fortification, Provides access to new castle structures such as stone walls and towers. This is a must have, as stronger, larger walls keep attackers out.

Long Bow, Increases archers hit points, great for defense or attacking. Highly recommended.
