Purpose: To automatically change the height and width of an image to fit into a space on the Web page.

Description: Dynamically change the images displayed dimensions to fit into a space on the Web page. Images are scaled down to fit into a space. Returns undefined if the element is not valid.

Method:

imageBestFit ( imgObj, [priorityWidth_b] );

Optional argument priorityWidth_b, default value true. When set to false, the image placed outside an element will scale down to fit in the Web browser’s viewing area based on the image’s height and the Web browser’s viewable height, allowing the image to fit the hole viewing area.

Example Usage:

imageBestFit ( “myImg” );

Select the image by ID

imageBestFit ( document.getElementById(“myImg”) );

Select the image by document element

imageBestFit ( 0 );

Select the image by document element image index number

imageBestFit ( “myImg”, false );

Select the image by ID and scale the image by height when placed outside an element.
